Customer Evaluations

I have used Sharp scientific calculators more than the past 8 years with no disappointment. I decided to replace my faithful EL 506. Its battery died two years ago and its been running on solar ever given that, as I by no means got time to replace it (yes it works wonderful below fluorescent light so it wasnt a situation). As I am an Electrical Engineering student, I obtain the capabilities on this model to be really valuable for those in engineering in common(primarily the complex matrix modes). The user friendly interface allows you to readily navigate each and every menu and select the desired attributes. The Write View function just tops it all off, surd form display tends to make life a breeze. No alot more blunders in entering information - you see it as it is. I advocate this solar/battery model more than the battery only model for obvious causes..the battery can be dead and you're still going. Superb product, superb price tag, great purchase.

This critique is for the EL-W516X. Amazon lists this as EL-W516XBSL, but the picture offered shows the El-W516X. The immediate difference is that in the description, it lists 535 functions instead of the 516X's 556, but the evaluation need to apply to each.
Prior to this calculator, I applied either a one-line view calculator or a graphing calculator. What I like about this calculator is that it is type of in amongst these two extremes. I can do points comparable to a graphing calculator such as scrolling back by way of entries but, of course, with out the graphing.
This calculator makes use of a technology referred to as WriteView allowing you to enter and display fractions, formulas, and functions as you would write them. It has a 4 line display and supports 556 functions, so it supports most of the conventional calculator operations. I will not bore you with the facts the calculator comes with two large, two-sided sheets - 1 sheet describes the functions, and the other provides ample examples of these functions. I located the detailed example sheet extremely helpful in studying to use the calculator.
Some characteristics I identified especially helpful to me about this calculator are as follows:
1. The capability to solve simultaneous linear equations with two or three unknowns. You just enter the numbers for the equations and presto - your answer.
2. You can solve quadratic and cubic equations as simply as the simultaneous equations.
three. It has an ENG function allowing you to quickly solve concerns using prefixes such as mega, kilo, micro, pico, etc.
four. There is an algebra function that let you to solve equations by assigning values to the x, y and A to F memories.
5. A good complement of memories, such as, temporary memories (x, y A to F), independent memory (M), final answer memory (ANS), formula memories to shop formulas (F1 to F4), and definable memories for storing functions or operations (D1 to D4).
6. When solving an integral or differential, it supplies the symbols with smaller rectangles that you basically populate with your desired values. You can scroll through the rectangles by way of the scroll keys. This is similar to Microsoft Word's equation editor (2007 edition). I thought this was a good addition.
7. The potential to differ the display intensity.
It has some other attributes such as performing list calculations, matrix calculations, a drill mode for students to practice tables, and statistical functions that are less useful to me.
I consider this will be my new "typical" calculator for everyday use.
