Amazon.com Product Description
For college students in math and sciences, or for any individual new to graphing calculators, Texas Instruments has designed the TI-83 Plus--a potent, situation-solving tool with features for storing, graphing, and analyzing up to ten functions. Plus, it displays graphs and evaluates tables on a split screen, allowing you to trace the graph and scroll by way of table values simultaneously.

The clear, readable display exhibits 12 characters and eight lines, in 64 x 96 pixels on an LCD screen. The TI-83 Plus has a pragmatic important layout and an very easy-to-use graphing interface, with a straight forward programming language for building conversion applications. The TI-83 Plus stores and analyzes up to ten matrices combined with data storage in lists containing up to 999 components per list. You can also solve equations interactively for unique variables.
With the TI-83 Plus, you can view an equation, its graph, and the coordinates all at one particular time. Jump from point to point by entering a number. Many beneficial plot kinds are obtainable, which includes scatter, box-and-whisker, XY-line, histogram, and normal probability plots. Advanced statistics and regression evaluation, graphical evaluation, and data evaluation are readily accessed, along with attributes for calculus, engineering, financial, logarithm, trigonometry, and hyperbolic functions--all vital tools for advanced analysis.

Consumer Reviews

If you are a high school student, then this calculator is for you. It has everything you need to have, for algebra, precalculus, and calculus. The beneficial factor about the 83+ is that it is upgradable, so the want for a new calculator does not arise, every single few years. Getting a graph-link can add on a TREMENDOUS amount of applications to use for Physics, Geometry, and even 3D-Graphs, (previously only on the ti-89 and up). If you are in High School, do NOT get the ti-92 or ti-89, mainly because they will most likely be banned from standardized tests, and high math classes, so ask your math teacher, for the reason that they are too difficult to use and recognize. Also, these 2 calculators are aimed for more college-level students, so if you are in college, attempt the ti-89. But in every case, a ti-83+ is perfect!

If you are thinking of employing this calculator for Algebra, Geometry, fundamentally any straight math, specially Calculus, Don't. That is not to say it will not operate, just that there are far better things out there, namely the TI-89. The 89 is somewhat even more high priced, but, in my opinion and encounter, it is far superior for these applications. A handful of reasons: simpler to get the results from previous entries, help for derivitives and integrals, and the higher resolution looks better and lets you put additional on the screen at one time, as nicely as permitting alot more symbols. Having said that, if you are organizing on using the calculator for Statistics, get the 83, mainly because, for some unknown cause, the TI engineers declined to put ANY suppport for stats on the 89, but the 83 is good at it. I have owned TI calculators for numerous years, and I have never ever experienced any good quality or production concerns with them and have never had any of them break except when treated Truly badly, such as having rather heavy, blunt objects dropped on the screen, and I do tend to use mine fairly tough.
