Item Description

Amazon.com Product Description
Amazon.com Item Description This advanced graphing calculator is packed with even more functions than you may know how to use. The TI-89 Titanium lets you carry out the expected functions of an advanced model--simple math, algebra, calculus, graphs, matrices, and statistical functions--and do cool stuff like producing animations, graphing 3-D rotations, and plotting contours. Graphing functions include things like fundamental function graphing, parametric graphing, polar graphing, sequence graphing, three-D graphing, and differential-equation graphing. In addition, the TI-89 Titanium consists of symbolic manipulation, constants and measurement units, statistics and data plots, a numeric solver, a text editor, programming capabilities, tables, a split-screen function, variable management, and the potential to link to other calculators or a laptop.
The TI-89 Titanium's flash technology permits you to upgrade to future software program versions without having getting to continually invest in new calculators. The 188 KB of RAM, combined with an impressive 2.7 MB of flash memory (three instances the memory of the TI-89), are extra than adequate for your stored functions, programs, and data, and add welcome speed to go with the TI's reliability. You can develop custom menus or use the default menu. A different cool function is the System Editor, which gives you the ability to write custom applications.

The big LCD is adjustable to your atmosphere and can be viewed clearly below a wide variety of lighting circumstances. The calculator also comes with an input/output port and cable, letting you synch up with other TI-89s or TI-92s, as nicely as a USB port and cable. An attached, hard slide cover protects the calculator from acquiring knocked around in your backpack. The manual that ships with the TI-89 Titanium is a killer, presenting over 500 pages of clear, concise definitions, function explanations, examples, drawings, and appendices. It is divided into nicely-organized chapters that cover all the major functions of the calculator.

Customer Evaluations

Just before I bought a TI-89 Titanium, I had utilised a TI-83 Plus for 4 years. Soon after taking calculus and finding out about limits, derivatives, integrals, infinite series, Taylor series, differential equations, and multivariable functions, I decided that I would look for a calculator which was capable of symbolic computation. Soon after analyzing my possibilities, I decided on a TI-89 Titanium. The TI-89 Titanium is in a position to expand polynomials, factor polynomials, and do all of the calculus tactics that I mentioned -- symbolically and numerically. One particular of the other items I identified beneficial was the TI-89 Titanium's potential to plot direction fields employing unique algorithms (such as Euler's process). One of the nicer issues about this model (compared to the TI-89) is that it has USB connectivity (cord included) for installing applications and transferring data. Another nice thing is that it also supports connectivity to older model TI-89s by way of the old I/O port which is perfect next to the USB connector. I also found the "precise mode" particularly useful (precise mode will give you precise answers rather than decimal approximations). But, the most valuable feature of this calculator is most likely the "fairly print" function which displays expressions as you would generally write them on paper. This function enables you to quickly see the expression that you typed in. All these characteristics plus copy and paste potential make this calculator nearly great. My only complaint is that the cover does not initially slide on and off simply. Having said that, I'm confident that with far more use it will wear in. Overall this is a wonderful calculator -- I advise it

This is the most highly effective scientific calculator in its class.
If you are majoring in Engineering, or program to key it, then you ought to get this one particular (or standard Ti-89)
If you decide to buy something else for cheaper price, you'll have to invest $150 far more to get this later anyway. (like me)
Even so if your Math class will finish up in Calculus or Algebra(i.e. if you're not going to understand Diff. equation or tougher), you do not seriously require this, you will just waste extra $70 for the attributes that you will by no means use (or features that are not permitted to use in exam)
So consider logically. It is actually cool looking calculator and it got greatest software/hardware in the world.
But if one particular is going to use it for effortless graphic or solving polynomial equations, then it's really like simulating windows and playing Doom3 on NEC Earth Simulator..
Used Ti-83 will do as fine for those..
